At the request of the Provincial Coroners Service, Chilliwack Search & Rescue members will help with the recoveries of deceased persons from remote areas and/or areas that require technical skill. When members are involved in recovery efforts; CISM debriefings are held to ensure that members understand the symptoms and emotional signs that may arise following a traumatic event, and the possible treatment options available.


Plane crashes in remote areas, drowning victims in the local waterways, cliff recoveries, train mishaps are some of the recent tragedies that Chilliwack Search & Rescue members have been called upon to assist the coroner’s office with their investigation.
